If after watching these videos you decide to purchase Essentials or any of the other Embrilliance products, we would greatly appreciate if you would use our affiliate link to do so.
We also include a few disclaimers at the end of this post. Below is a play-by-play with timestamps in case you want to return to a particular point in one of the videos at a later date. We uploaded this content to YouTube in four parts for easier viewing, but it is intended to be watched in order from start to finish, at least for your initial viewing. By walking through a couple projects, we touch on the features we use most in a conversational way.

We start at the very beginning explaining how the Embrilliance platform is sold, give a tour of the buttons and menu options, show how to do something basic like personalize an applique design by adding a lettering object, then end with a custom merged project borrowing elements from three different designs to create something new. This is not intended to be an exhaustive tutorial, there is far more to Essentials than can be covered in an hour! Knowing that our audience would be a mix of experience levels (from those who have never used Embrilliance to those who own and use the entire platform) we structured our class to focus on our favorite features of the Essentials program.
Embrilliance software is often available in our shop as a physical product that will be shipped (U.S.In March 2017 we taught a class entitled "Embroidery Editing Essentials" at the Everything Embroidery Market.

The collection includes an instructional PDF booklet on applique basics and full size templates for each applique design. The designs used here are from Baby’s First Quilt, which includes 10 applique designs for 100 x 100mm sewing fields, 10 continuous line coordinating quilt blocks for 100 x 100mm sewing fields, and 10 coordinating echo quilting designs for 150 x 150mm sewing fields. Note: These screen shots are from the Mac version. Also, many appliqué designs do not include a template so here’s an easy way to create your own in Embrilliance Essentials. However, the templates are only useful if you don’t resize the embroidery design. (See this post for more info on working with templates: Fuzzy Wuzzy Ducky Quilt.)

These templates are used to precut your appliqué pieces for a more professional embroidery result and faster sewing times since there is no need to stop the machine to trim away a lot of excess fabric. I usually provide actual size PDF templates with my appliqué designs.
